Wash Day: 5 1/2 Weeks Post 4/19 Relaxer Touch Up

This week was another focus on moisture as my relaxed hair dried out sooner than normal. Typically my hair starts to feel dry about six or so days after I cleanse it. So I decided to change up my routine by deep conditioning as my pre-poo. How did it all turn out? Read on to see.

Detangled with organic virgin coconut oil and water mix, my fingers, and seamless comb.

Pre-pooed/deep conditioned with Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner with a shower cap and no heat for about 90 minutes.

Braided my hair into four braids.

Rinsed my hair in warm water and cleansed my scalp with a mixture of Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Moisture Shampoo and the rest of the awapuhi ginger shampoo in an applicator bottle.

Express conditioned with Design Essential Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner.

Rinsed and t-shirt dried then detangled with Pantene Pro-V Moisture Mist Detangler and my fingers.

Applied my leave-in of Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave In Conditioner and sealed with ThermaFuse HeatSmart Serum Dry Oil Treatment.

Air dried for a couple of hours and finished drying under my hooded dryer on low heat for an hour.

The result was nothing spectacular. There also aren't any mishaps to report. I am curious to see if deep conditioning before my wash makes any difference on my moisture levels throughout the week.

  1. Hey Leah! I'm wondering how you feel about the Eden products? I haven't seen many reviews on them...then again...I haven't looked very hard either!

Thanks for joining the #washdayexperience chica!

    1. Thanks KLP. I've been using the Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea leave in for a while and love it. It really moisturizes my hair, particularly my ends. I've just started using the Jojoba deep conditioner and shampoo. I'm on the fence about the deep conditioner. There really isn't any slip and I haven't noticed it conditioning my hair anymore than other ones I've used. In fact, I feel like I got better results from the OGX Macadamia Oil deep conditioner. The shampoo is good and doesn't strip my hair so it may be a keeper. I really want to try the Coconut Shea cowash. That will be my next Eden BodyWorks purchase

  2. I'm curious about the OGX line. I haven't tried any of it though...how do you like the shampoo?

    1. Thanks for visiting Yalanda. The shampoo is ok. It cleansed my scalp and didn't dry out my hair even when used twice. Outside of that I didn't noticed any other benefits. I really like the Macadamia Oil deep conditioner as it really moisturized and softened my hair. I want to try the Macadamia shampoo and oil. The Moroccan Oil makes a good sealer
