I didn’t always want my eye makeup to look natural. While I kept my face makeup simple, I would pair that with more dramatic and bold eye shadows. No matter where was I going, church, grocery shopping, even to the office I would wear bold purples, greens and blues. Once I hit my mid-to-late-twenties I stopped wearing eye shadow all together for a few years. When I started wearing eye shadow again I opted for a more toned, neutral down look. This meant wearing lots of browns and taupes with an occasional hint of gold or orange thrown in to brighten things up.
To achieve this toned down, more neutral look I started using was the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. It soon became my sole eye shadow palette. One of the things that drew me to this particular palette were the 12 neutral shades. Because of the multiple shades of bronze, beige, brown I can create a smokey eye or a subtle, very natural day look. All of the shades in the palette work really well together. I’ve also been able to pair them with more colorful shades I’ve used in the past.
While I love the Maybelline The Nudes Palette and still use it everyday I started to feel it was limiting. Especially when I felt like adding a hint of color. So I started looking for another eye shadow palette that would give me some more color while still keeping with my natural look. This led me to the Maybelline 24K Nudes Palette.
The Maybelline 24K Nudes Palette comes with 12 shades that have a more heavy metal feel, but still look and feel more natural. I love the rich navy and many purple shades. I can wear the shades solo, mix and match them within the palette or mix them with shades from the Maybelline The Nudes Palette.
