Are The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Vitamins Worth It?

One thing that I don’t think is talked about enough in the hair care world is how your health and what you ingest impact your hair growth and health.

Staying hydrated and drinking more water can help to keep your scalp and thereby your hair hydrated as well. Some vitamins help with growing hair and scalp health. Many of those vitamins you can get from eating foods or from taking multivitamins specially formulated for hair.

I’ve tried a few of them like these from The Mane Choice hair brand.

The Mane Choice hair vitamins are called the Manetabolism Plus Vitamins.

A while ago I tried them out for about a month to see how they impacted my hair growth. That probably wasn’t a long enough time to really make a final decision on whether they worked or not as most hair vitamins I’ve looked at since then say you need at least 60-90 to see any noticeable difference.

So let’s dig in. The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Vitamins claim to be an adult vitamin that “promotes healthy hair, nails, and skin, strengthens the immune system and boosts energy levels.” It’s said to be loaded with essential antioxidants that help naturally boost the immune system and energy levels.

The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Vitamins are physician formulated, not just something that was whipped up in someone's kitchen. Some of the vitamins included in it are Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, vitamin B12, Calcium, Magnesium, and Folic Acid just to name a few.

A lot of brands have hair vitamins in pill and gummy form with gummies being the popular or preferred form. When I first tried The Mane Choice Manetabolism Vitamins I couldn’t find a gummy version. Since that initial trial, they released them in gummy form.

You can find the pill version in several places - Ulta, The Mane Choice site, Amazon, and Sally Beauty.

I’ve only been able to find the gummy version at Ulta and The Mane Choice site.

When it comes to my experience. I took the pills for four weeks. Below on the left is a pic of my hair on the day I started taking the pills and on the right is the day I stopped.

After that 30 days, I didn’t see any difference in my hair that I thought would have been due to the vitamins. I could see my hair looked a little longer but that was normal for a 30-day span.

I had been going through a period of seeing breakage with my hair and that didn’t lessen during the time I was taking The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Vitamins. The breakage actually got worse but I soon figured out what was causing that which you can read about here. Also, my new growth wasn’t coming in any thicker or quicker.

There was one change I was happy not to see. That change was in my skin. Sometimes hair vitamins can cause the skin to break out. That thankfully didn’t happen to me.

Since that initial three months, I haven't used the vitamins again for a few reasons
  • Gummies became my preferred form for vitamins and these aren’t offered as a gummy (now I don’t care what form they come in)
  • I didn’t see them making a difference in my hair after 30 days
  • They cost more than other hair vitamins I had used
  • They aren’t discounted often

If I could get The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Vitamins at a discounted price I would give them another try and use them for 60-90 days and see if they would work for me.
