I'm in the process of
building my relaxed hair regimen and wanted to find a good rinse-out conditioner for my relaxed hair. To find a conditioner I decided to take a trip to Ulta and see what I could find. As I was browsing the aisles I saw the Design Essentials products.
Many of the hairstylists I've gone to use Design Essentials products and I've loved the results. Perhaps I could replicate the results by using the same brand of products.
Looking through the products I found the Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner. It says it's super moisturizing and since I'm focusing on moisture I thought this would be perfect.
Many people I know don’t have life insurance. I was one of them until a few months ago. When you’re young, or single you don’t see life insurance as a necessity. If you have a family or people who depend on your income, it may seem like something you can get later in life when you’re more likely to need it. Or it could be that you don’t think paying monthly for life insurance will fit into your budget.
Getting life insurance was something that I had been thinking about for years. I’d heard it was better and easier to get it when you’re young, but I didn’t think I could fit it into my budget. Recently I started working with a financial planner who recommended getting life insurance as part of my long-term financial plan. She then showed me how I could fit it into my monthly budget.
I was surprised at how affordable it was and how much more beneficial it was for me to get it now than to wait and get it when I thought I’d need it.
This is my first wash day post, which has me excited! I’ve read so many wash day posts from some of my favorite bloggers and now I’m doing one.
Since
starting my healthy hair journey, I’ve been trying several products on my relaxed hair and have started to find some that I like, some that are so-so, and some that are no-nos. To help clear out my cabinet I’m trying to use up the so-so products with each wash and find other uses for the no-nos. Here goes nothing.
To keep my hair healthy I want to make sure it's being properly cleaned. Using a clarifying or deep cleansing shampoo will help with that because they remove dirt, product build-up, and sweat that will accumulate over time.
Today I got my second relaxer touch-up of 2014. It's been eight weeks since my last relaxer touchup. I typically stretch my relaxers at a minimum of 10 weeks but needed to do this one sooner due to my summer plans.
I recently
started my relaxed hair journey so I'm still trying to learn my relaxed hair. I'm also working on establishing my wash day regimen and figuring out what products work best for my hair.
I've always thought my hair was one of my best features. Growing up it was long and thick. So thick that I hated to wash it or get it wet because it would take forever to dry - even with a relaxer. Once I hit my teenage years I cut my relaxed bra strap length (BSL) hair to chin length and have been cutting it ever since bouncing between shoulder length and chin length.
When I lived in North Carolina I toyed with the idea of buying a house. I even went so far as to research realtors and choose neighborhoods I was interested in. But I never really pulled the trigger because I got laid off twice and renting is so much more cost-efficient and less of a commitment than buying.
If you listed out your monthly expenses, food, in particular groceries, would probably be a big chunk of what you spend. I keep a monthly budget so I know it’s a decent amount of change that I'm spending each month on groceries. So I can only imagine how much families with kids spend.
By doing some research I found that I could save a couple of hundred a year on groceries if I did it right. Yes, you read right. Save a couple of hundred dollars a year.
It’s not until you become an adult and have been “adulting” for a while that you realize how much you have learned from your parents. Sometimes we learn the negative things our parents do and say. Other times we’re able to learn or pick up the positive things.
Thankfully when it came to money and personal finance my parents were good role models and taught me how to manage money. Because of this, I was able to start my adult life on a positive financial footing to the point that I was able to
