The two products I tried out were the TGIN Rose Water Sulfate-Free Hydrating Shampoo and the Rose Water Hydrating Hair Mask. For a few wash days, I used them together, then I started using them separately and rotating them into my wash days among my staple hair products.
It’s been a few months since I started doing that, so let's talk about what I really think about the products.

The collection has a total of nine products - a shampoo, a rinse-out conditioner, a hair mask, a leave in conditioner, and various styling products like mousse and a curl cream. Because my hair tends to be on the drier side and likes lots of moisture, I didn’t want to invest too heavily in this line and bought the shampoo and hair mask because it may be too light on the moisture for me.
About the TGIN Rose Water Sulfate Free Hydrating Shampoo <<<>>>
First up was the shampoo. It claims to gently cleanse the hair, “leaving it moisturized without a greasy finish.” While also smoothing and reducing frizz.
I like that it’s sulfate-free free so it would be gentle on my relaxed hair. The pink color is fun and makes it look distinctive. The first time I used the shampoo, my hair and scalp were really dirty. It had been a week and a half since my hair had been washed, and I usually go a week. Because of that, I knew it wouldn’t get a fair shake using it by itself, so I decided to use my clarifying shampoo first and follow up with the TGIN Rose Water shampoo for my second lather.
The shampoo lathered nicely (even though it’s sulfate-free), and my scalp felt clean but not stripped. That’s a win when your relaxed hair balks at being over-cleansed.
I had detangled my hair earlier, so I didn’t try to detangle my hair with the mask on. The mask did make it easier to run my fingers through my hair.
Even though this rose water hair mask provides lightweight moisture, it doesn’t mean you need to be heavy-handed with the product. I found that a little bit goes a long way when I realized I was applying too much to my hair.
Every time I used the mask, I put my hair up with a hair clip, covered my hair with a plastic cap, and then used my microwavable deep conditioning cap or sat under my hair steamer. I’d let the hair mask sit for 20-30 minutes and then rinse out with cool water.
This mask looks and feels very similar to the TGIN Miracle RepaiRx Deep Hydrating Hair Mask, but I think the Rose Water one provided a little more moisture.
After my first use, when I used the two products together, my hair had manageability and felt moisturized. But I didn’t notice the moisture lasting throughout the week between wash days. So I had to supplement with some leave-in conditioners and moisturizing creams.
When I started using them separately and along with my other moisturizing wash day hair products, I continued to have the manageability, and I noticed that my hair stayed moisturized the full week between washes. The moisture in the products wasn’t enough for my hair, so they needed to be supplemented with products that were heavier providers of moisture.
While these hair products moisturize nicely, if your relaxed hair is very high porosity or badly damaged, you may still need a heavier reconstructive or protein-rich treatment occasionally. This line leans more towards hydration and smoothing than hair repair.
While I liked how my hair would come out using these, I decided they wouldn’t have a regular place in my hair regimen. They will make good backups if I can’t get my hands on my regulars.
About the TGIN Rose Water Collection
Though it’s been around for a few years, as of the writing of this blog post, the Rose Water collection is the newest of the three that TGIN has. It claims to provide the hair with a lighter amount of moisture, making it perfect for fine and low-porosity hair.Related read: 7 TGIN Products That Work Well On Relaxed Hair

About the TGIN Rose Water Hydrating Hair Mask
I’m a big fan of hair masks. Especially ones that are hydrating. This rose water mask claims to “revitalize dry and brittle hair” and help to “melt away knots and tangles while adding moisture and softness.”I had detangled my hair earlier, so I didn’t try to detangle my hair with the mask on. My experience using the products
Both the TGIN Rose Water shampoo and Rose Water hair mask have rose water (not really a surprise), which “helps attract and retain moisture for hair,” and acai berries, which are “packed with vitamins to hydrate, strengthen and reduce frizz.” I think both have a light scent that doesn’t irritate my sinuses and doesn’t linger for more than 24 hours. After my first use, when I used the two products together, my hair had manageability and felt moisturized.
