Your Ultimate Guide to Ulta's Best Hair And Beauty Fall Haul Deals

Another season, another Ulta sale. This time it’s the Fall Haul sale. While the deals aren’t as good as the 21 Days of Beauty, which typically comes prior to the products on sale, they are more practical and for the masses.

About the Ulta Fall Haul sale

The sale runs from September 20 through October 4 this year.

During this sale, every main category is on sale - hair, makeup, skincare, and body care. Deals range in percentage off, topping out at 30% off. Products are available for purchase online or in-store unless otherwise noted.

My deal selections

I’ve scoured the sale and pulled out some key products that stood out to me as good deals.

Select Juvia’s Place eye and face

Most of my eyeshadow palettes are from Juvia’s Place because I love how soft they are, the vibrancy of the color, and that they don’t easily fade away. My favorite palettes are The Coffee Shop and The Chocolates.

A few other eyeshadow palette selects would be The Nubian Eyeshadow Palette and The Warrior Eyeshadow Palette because they are both full of rich neutral shades that can be worn with any makeup look.

When it comes to face products, I’ve purchased the I Am Magic Velvety Matte Foundation, but the shade was so off that I wasn't able to wear it. So I can’t speak to how it feels or wears on my oily skin.

A couple of products I haven't tried yet but have had my eye on for a while are the Bronzed Duo in tan or dark and the Blush Duo Vo 1 (deep earthy tones). If I buy them, I would probably go to the store to see which shades looked best on my skin tone.

30% off select Maybelline and L’Oreal

These are two drugstore makeup brands that I regularly use and like. Now, only select products are on sale, so not everything I have used and like is on sale, but here are a few products to check out

Maybelline

Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off NYX

NYX is a makeup brand I discovered a few years ago. I tried out a few products and have been using select products from the brand ever since.

Those products are the Matte Finish Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray and Shine Killer Charcoal Infused Mattifying Primer. They are both staples for me when I want my makeup to last and look good during a long day.

30% off the entire brand of Real Techniques

This deal is the same as last year, which is nice. If I'm looking for a budget-friendly but good and effective makeup brush or sponge, I turn to the Real Techniques brand. They have several options for brushes that last a long time. I use several of them. My picks for this sale are

I also have my eye on the new Makeupsaver Blending Sponge. It uses innovative fingerprint technology to mimic finger application and claims to absorb 90% less water-based makeup.

30% off select nail products

I love a good manicure, but for some reason, nail polish tends to immediately chip after I get one. That led me to try the Dashing Diva nail strips. They work much better for me and last two weeks than a manicure should. If you haven't used the nail strips, this is a good time to give them a try.

If you prefer nail polish, some Essie and Sally Hansen polishes are also on sale, as well as some nail tools.

Neutrogena skincare

I like to rotate between a couple of Neutrogena’s HydroBoost moisturizers. I like that they have hyaluronic acid in them and also SPF to help protect my skin from the sun. Of the two Neutrogena moisturizers I use, only one is sold at Ulta. That is the Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer SPF 50.

Some other notable Neutrogena products to try out are the Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Makeup Remover Melting Balm.

Thayers

This is a brand I recently became a fan of. I've mainly been using the toners but have recently started trying some of the moisturizers, using them at night.

Of the toners in the Thayers collection sold at Ulta, I have used the Hydrating Milky Toner, the Rose Petal, and the 2% AHA toner. The 2% AHA toner was probably my least favorite, as it was less hydrating on my skin.

Other Thayer's products I'd look at during this sale are the

25% off  La Roche-Posay

This is a brand that I saw all over Europe when I was there this summer, and it has gained a lot of popularity here in the States. I've never tried any of the products, but if I were shopping for this brand during the sale, I would consider

25% off Cerave skin and body

I've used a facial and body moisturizer from this brand a few times and have had a good experience. I think many of these moisturizers are perfectly suited for the cooler and drier temps of Fall and Winter.

Of the products on sale, I would take a look at the
  • Foaming Facial Cleanser, which is a gentle and gel-based face wash for balanced to oily skin that cleanses and refreshes skin and retains moisture while reinforcing the skin's barrier
  • Skin Renewing Night Cream. It contains peptides and ceramides to hydrate and replenish the skin barrier while helping to renew the skin overnight.
  • AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 50. I've used this one a few times and really like how it feels on my skin and how hydrated my skin feels. If for combination to oily skin.
  • PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. This is an oil-free night face moisturizer formulated with 3 essential ceramides to help restore the skin barrier.

Select shampoos & conditioners

Not really the best deals as Ulta sometimes has 50% off hair product sales, but if you’re running low, this current deal can help you save a few dollars. Some of the brands I use - TGIN, Mielle, and Design Essentials - are part of the sale this year. That being said, only a few products. from each brand is part of the sale. Here are some shampoo and conditioner options that are my sale picks.

25% off the entire Not Your Mother's brand

I've used a few products from this brand. Some were a miss, and others like these two stood out for me.

The first is the Not Your Mother's Matcha Green Tea & Wild Apple Blossom Butter Hair Masque. It's what I call an express hair masque, as it only needs to stay on the hair for about 10 minutes. After using it, my hair feels so soft and supple.

The other product is the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo. I like to use it to refresh my hair and scalp between washes. Especially if I've been sweating a lot.
