The Blow-Dry Technique I’m Using Now On My Relaxed Hair

If you’ve been in your relaxed hair journey for any length of time, you already know that wash day is really “wash + dry day”. While the products and techniques used to wash your hair are important, so are the techniques used to dry your hair.

That’s why I decided to visit the way I had been blow-drying my hair lately.

Now, was the way I was drying my relaxed hair terrible? No, it just wasn’t the way I was seeing hairstylists I follow on social media doing it. Nor was it the way the hairstylist I go to for relaxer touch-ups does it.

When I blow-dry my hair, I want to dry it as quickly and smoothly as possible with the least heat. And I don’t think the method I’d been using of parting my wet hair into two large sections and using the comb attachment from the start was the best way. It was pretty quick when I used my Shark Flexstyle, but I think it was setting my hair up for damage down the road.

Watch this video to see the technique I ended up using that I’d seen several hair professionals use and recommend when blow-drying hair.
