Wash Day: 2 Weeks Post 4/19 Relaxer Touch-up

This was kind of a co-wash day. I typically co-wash in-between full washes if my relaxed hair is feeling dry, but my hair felt very moisturized this week. So I didn't feel an immediate need to do a wash day.

Out of the six days since my last wash, I wore my hair out three days and didn't need to do any daily moisturizing. Hopefully, this wash day produces similar results.

I began by detangling with my fingers and seamless comb using extra virgin olive oil.

Braided my hair into seven braids.

Pre-pooed for 30 minutes with Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner and a Brazilian keratin conditioner the hair closer to my scalp. This was my first time using the Herbal Essences Cleansing Conditioner. My hair didn't feel as conditioned as it did during my last wash, but it didn't feel drier than normal either. So that was a plus.

I then rinsed my relaxed hair in warm water and deep conditioned with Thermafuse HeatSmart Serum Condition for 20 minutes under heat.

Express conditioned with Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner.

T-shirt dried for 30 minutes.

Applied my go-to detangler Pantene Pro-V Moisture Mist Detangler and got out any tangles with my fingers and seamless comb.

Applied my leave-in mix of Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner and sealed my relaxed hair with an argan oil serum.

I ended up inadvertently air-drying for about an hour due to some distractions. Then I dried my hair to about 70 - 80% by sitting under my hooded dryer for an hour on low heat. I then crossed-wrapped my hair even though my roots were still damp so they would dry straight overnight.

Needless to say, my roots were more wet than damp when I went to bed because they were damp when I got up. I sat under the dryer using low heat for about 15 minutes in the morning.

The final results revealed no major issues, just normal minor tangling or shedding. Once again my relaxed hair felt soft and moisturized, though not as silky as the last time. I put my hair up in a bun, added a headband, and went on with my day.

How was your most recent wash day? Any issues or great results?

  1. How do you like the Pantene Pro-V Moisture Mist Detangler? I haven't used Pantene in years but they've come a long way since then.

Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

    1. I really like it. It's been years since I used Pantene because it tends to not agree with my hair. The Moisture Mist Detangler really helps me with detangling and doesn't dry out my hair. I've even used it a few time to add moisture to my hair between washes or detangle before a wash even though the directions say to use it on wet hair.
