I'm back with another wash day post. Before I dig in I do want to put a disclaimer out that this wash day wasn't any different than my most recent ones. In fact, it was similar to the one at 13 weeks post.
I took part in the 30 Days With Ceramides Challenge hosted by Jen of Just Grow Already and Divachyk of Relaxed Thairapy. The rules of the challenge were simple. Basically, we were to incorporate ceramides into our regimen (e.g. sealing, hot oil treatment, or conditioner with ceramides), keep track of the results, and share them in a blog post.
I'm now at 12 1/2 weeks post my last relaxer touch-up. By now I would have called my stylist to schedule an appointment, but I've decided to go another week or two before I get a relaxer touch up. Things seem to be going well with my relaxed hair and the green tea rinses seem to be working (woohoo!) as I didn't have much shedding over the week.
Thanks to everyone for encouraging me on the thickness of my hair. Looking at my pictures from my last wash day I felt that my hair was losing thickness due to some shedding I'd been experiencing. Over the last week, I realized my hair does have some thickness, but it's not as thick as it used to be and the left side of my head is not as thick as the right side. Because of my healthy hair practices, I do expect it to thicken up some more, but that will take time.
Now on to what you're here for - my wash day recap!

When I realized that I needed a leave-in conditioner for my relaxed hair I drove to the nearest Sally Beauty and started to browse the aisles. I picked up and read the front and back of the packaging for several leave-in conditioners and moisturizers before I found the Eden BodyWorks section.

This is a brand I hadn't heard of before but it looked intriguing. I picked up a leave-in conditioner and started to read the ingredient list. It contained a lot of natural oils - coconut, jojoba, safflower, and avocado. It also listed Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. All good things for relaxed hair.
I decided to bring it home and give it a try.
It's another wash day. I decided to forgo one of the steps in my shedding plan which was to go one and a half to two weeks between wash days this time around because my new growth was starting to feel dry.
Since I was experiencing dryness my focus was on putting some serious moisture back in my relaxed hair by steaming and using moisturizing products.

How time flies! I am now one week into the Just Grow Already 30 Days with Ceramides Challenge and I have started to see some positive changes in my hair.

Hello readers! Yes, it has been two weeks since my last wash day post. Last week was a bit busy as it was revival week at church and we had evening services Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. So I skipped my wash last week, which also falls within my plan for combating my shedding.
I am about 10 1/2 weeks post my April relaxer touch up and boy do some areas of my head have some new growth. I don't plan on getting a relaxer until July or August.
After not washing for two weeks and having over 10 weeks of new growth how did my wash day go? Here's a recap.

If you follow Jen of Just Grow Already you have probably heard about her 30 Day Ceramides Challenge. I really like this idea, mostly because I recently decided to include ceramides in my regimen by using sunflower oil in my hot oil pre-poo and as a daily sealer. So far I'm enjoying the results and can't wait to see where my hair is after the 30 days.
