Wash Day 1 Week Post Relaxer Touch Up In A New State

This my first wash day in Florida! Since I'm staying with family friends until I find a permanent residence I don't have all of my hair tools at my disposal (particularly my hooded dryer). So I am tweaking my regimen to keep it simpler and shorter than usual.

With the simple and short theme in mind, I opted to use some specific products.

The products I used were the Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner, Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Shampoo, an apple cider vinegar rinse, the OGX Keratin Oil conditioner, the Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner, and sunflower oil.

I know it seems like a lot, but it actually went very quickly. There wasn't any prepping tea for a rinse and I didn't use any heat for conditioning which I missed, but both just add time to my wash day.

To start my wash day I pre-pooed with the Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner for about 30 minutes with no heat.

After rinsing that out I shampooed with the Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Moisturizing Shampoo by putting it in an applicator bottle and mixing it with some water.

After I shampooed, I used Apple Cider Vinegar for a hair rinse. This time I applied it with a spray bottle and didn't rinse it out right away.

For my conditioner, I used the OGX Keratin Oil Conditioner by applying it on top of the Apple Cider Vinegar and left it one for a few minutes.

Once I was done in the shower I t-shirt dried for an hour, moisturized, and sealed using my current staples of the Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner and sunflower oil.

I then air-dried for three hours and then (gasp) used my blow dryer on low heat to dry my damp roots.

For bed prep, I applied coconut oil and put my hair in a loose bun on the top of my head.

My hair felt soft, like so soft I had to slap my hand to keep it out of my hair. My hair also felt moisturized. I was afraid that using the blow dryer would dry my hair out some, but it didn't. Not bad for a simple and short wash.

I also opted to wear my hair out the next day. While it felt a tad drier at the end of the day, it still had plenty of moisture and softness!

What products do you use to keep your hair soft?

    1. The ACV scent doesn't linger after a good rinsing.

I need to do a tutorial on my hair wrapping method. It's pretty simple. Something to do for the new year.

      Thanks for visiting KLP!
