- Wash day 1: Grapeseed oil, almond oil, and Jamaican Black Castor Oil
- Wash day 2: Grapeseed oil, almond oil, four drops of tea tree oil, and Jamaican Black Castor Oil
- Wash day 3: Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Hair Oil (mix of sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil), four drops of tea tree oil, and almond oil
- Wash day 4: Five drops of tea tree oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil, and Jamaican Black Castor Oil
To warm up the oils I boiled water in a pot, took the pot off the stove, and placed the applicator bottle in the water for about 10-15 minutes. I've found the oils warm up quickly this way and I don't have to worry about them exploding or getting too hot like they can in the microwave.
Outside of the last couple of weeks when the other products I used dried out my hair, my relaxed hair and new growth have felt moisturized and retained moisture from one wash day to the next.
After participating in the challenge I've realized that I need to bring hot oil treatments back into my regimen so I'll continue doing them about once a month or every four weeks.
What are your favorite hot oil mixes?
