Top Sephora Makeup & Skincare Oily Skin Picks

Whenever I see a Sephora I get the urge to walk in. Even if I don’t have anything that I need to buy or can afford to buy. In fact, when my mom and I were vacationing in Vancouver we saw there was a Sephora near our hotel so we decided to pay it a visit.

Now, while I’m a fan of Sephora I do wish they had more sales throughout the year. Makeup and skincare can be expensive. I only have so much discretionary income that I can spend before I have to start skipping visiting my family or meals. So when Sephora has a sale, I start putting together a list of things I’d like to buy.

I have oily skin so I’m selective about what products I use because I want to do everything I can to keep the oil to a minimum. Here are my Sephora picks.

Smashbox Photo Finish Control Mattifying Face Primer

Now if you’re looking for a Smashbox primer that does help with mattifying and controlling oil then this could be the one for you. The primer claims to be oil-fighting and provides a matte finish all while nourishing, balancing, and defending the skin. Additionally, it has ingredients that are supposed to help protect the skin against damage from pollution and blue light.

Key ingredients include Silkscreen Complex (Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid, Probiotic Extract, Vitamins, and Algae), Witch Hazel, Salicylic Acid, and Zinc.

Original BeautyBlender Makeup Sponge

I prefer to use a sponge to apply my foundation and have given the BeautyBlender a try. I liked it but personally didn't like it enough to spend twice as much as I do on the drugstore brand I buy. That being said if I could get the BeautyBlender during a 50% off sale I would probably buy it. Especially because it comes in dark colors which is great for those of us who use darker foundation shades.

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinstick

My mom got this during a trip to a Sephora while vacationing in Vancouver, CA to cover some dark undereye circles. When she tried it on in the store it did a really good job of covering them.

The Matte Skinsticks have multiple uses outside of concealing. You can also use them for contouring and correcting.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

This setting spray claims to keep your makeup "fresh, smudge-proof, and transfer resistant for up to 16 hours." Now Urban Decay does have a setting spray that is specifically made for those with oily skin. I have tried it and wasn't impressed. It doesn't spray evenly and I felt that it was less effective in keeping my makeup looking good throughout the day.

Murad Skincare

Back when I had adult acne covering most of my face I could only find one skincare brand that would clear it up. That was Murad. Back I was using them they had a smaller product line than they do now. I imagine that most if not all of their products are great but the two that I really liked when I was dealing with my adult acne were the Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser and the Skin-perfecting Lotion.

What do you like to buy from Sephora?
