When it comes ot giving gifts, I tend to stress out. Whether it's Christmas, Mother's Day, or someone's birthday. The reason I stress out is that I want to find the right gift, something they will like and use. One thing that's helped me get the right gift for people, besides asking them, is to know what they are interested in.

I wanted this list to focus on affordable gifts I'd actually recommend or use myself. These are practical items that fit into a healthy hair routine, making them great for holiday stockings, Secret Santa exchanges, or small gifts for the hair care enthusiast in your life.
Hair accessories
Bobby pins
You can never have or give enough bobby pins because they always seem to disappear. Plus, you can get some really pretty ones that can be used more for decoration versus practicality, like these Vintage Flower Hair Pins or Gold Geometric Metal Hair Pins.Satin hair scrunchie
This is perfect for someone who likes to wear their hair up in ponytails or buns often. Satin scrunchies are softer on hair than other hair ties, don't crease the hair like other hair ties, and won't pull on the hair. I like to use satin scrunchies to put my hair in a loose ponytail or bun.Flat lay claw clips
These are a good alternative to regular claw clips because they sit flat on the back of the head instead of sticking out. This allows for resting the head back comfortably. I've used these to keep my hair up when I've lounged by the pool or relaxed on the couch at home.
Regular claw clips
While the flat ones are better, the regular claw clips are good to use when sectioning hair for styling or applying products. Depending on the size, they can also be used for holding curlers in place.

Hair tools
I currently have the Hercules Sagemann seamless comb Jumbo Rake, but there are many to choose from. The magic with the one I have is that it's wide-toothed and seamless. So when you use it, your hair doesn't get snagged and snapped by the seams in the comb or small teeth. Since I started using this, I'm no longer damaging my hair with my comb.
Detangling brush
Another option for detangling hair is to use a brush specifically made for detangling, like a Tangle Teaser. These types of brushes have bristles designed to flex over tangles and not pull or tug, instead of boar bristles that tend to be in regular brushes.
Microfiber towel
These are gentle and soft towels which are great for using on the hair. Mostly because they are more gentle and less likely to pull and tug on hair strands. Plus, they tend to be very absorbent.
Satin bonnet
These are great for those who want to protect their hair when sleeping or at home. These particular bonnets are long, so they can be used for those with short hair and those with long hair. This is perfect for someone growing out a short hairstyle. I like this bonnet because my hair can lay flat at night and not get scrunched up like with a traditional night cap.
Scalp massager
These are great tools to have as they can be used to help clean the scalp, relax muscles, and stimulate blood flow in the scalp. You can find several on Amazon for $10 or less.
Shower cap
I typically use cheap, disposable shower caps that I can get in a pack with multiple ones. What's nice is to have a non-disposable shower cap that is a little stylish. Some of the nicer shower caps come satin lined. Since it's not a necessity, it makes a great gift.

Gift sets
One way to gift hair products is to give a gift set. These are typically a box or container of hair care products in sample or travel sizes that are from a particular brand. This is a good way for someone to try new products or even take their favorites with them when they travel. There are gift sets under $30 from brands like Redken, Briogeo, Amika, and more.
Shampoo and conditioner sets
I see these a lot at Target, where you can get a set of hair products that contains a full-size shampoo and conditioner from a brand. This is perfect for someone who has a favorite shampoo and conditioner duo that you can essentially replenish for them. Here are some that I found

Satin pillowcase
Because protecting our hair doesn't end when we go to bed. Even though I cover my hair at night, I still use a satin pillowcase. You can find these in all types of price points and even get silk ones if you want to shell out some serious dollars. Some of these pillowcases come as one in a pack; sometimes you can get a deal and get two in a pack.
Store gift card
A $20 or $25 gift card at Sally Beauty or Ulta can buy a couple of great products such as shampoo and conditioner.
